Getting Your Window Glass Sparkling
Clean
There are many methods for cleaning the
windows of a car/truck/RV, some of which work better than
others. Some people use paper towels, while others use a cloth of some
kind, and still others use newspaper. With any one of these materials,
there are also many different liquids, as well as foam sprays used. Some
combinations work fairly well, but even the best have still been found to
sometimes leave some residue/streaks. About two weeks ago, I received a
call from one of our customers, who happens to be very particular with his
"C-5" Corvette. He uses most, if not all, of our products, and
has even appended a comment or two talking about his satisfaction with our
products (Testimonials Page). He wanted to
know if it was safe to use the Race Glaze® Gloss Highlighter on the
inside of his windows, specifically the rear window – because of the
rear window defroster. It seems he was not having any luck getting the
window as clean as he wanted it to be, and had already spent way too long
trying. Paper towels, and his favorite spray window cleaner were still
leaving some streaks in the corners. I assured him that he could use Gloss
Highlighter on the windows – even on his rear window. I told him that I’ve
found the "microfiber detailing cloth" to work extremely well
for cleaning windows. I suggested that he try using one with Gloss
Highlighter to clean the windows. Within five minutes he called me back,
and said it did a better job on his windows than any other set of products
he had ever used. Our "microfiber detailing cloth" like many
others, is a blend of polyester, and polyamide (a by product of nylon). By
combining these two fibers, you end up with a cloth that cleans very well
(polyester), and also absorbs liquid very well (polyamide). What makes our
cloth different from many of the others on the market, is the strand count
– number of fibers that come in contact with the surface. Ours undergo a
special heat treating process, that uniformly splits each fiber strand,
such that the ends are each split into sixteen individual strands – the
more strands that come in contact with the surface, the better the cloth
cleans the surface, and also absorbs the liquid. These cloths have many
uses – great for buffing off polish (or wax), clean eyeglasses, dust
furniture, clean CD’s, clean windows and mirrors, and many, many more.
They are highly absorbent, absorbing over six times it’s weight in water
and other liquids. For best results, wash the cloth regularly, using hot
water, and a mild detergent – no bleach, and no fabric softener. They
will stand up to at least 500 washes. I personally use one cloth for
buffing off Race Glaze® Polish & Sealant on my own vehicles, and when
I do a demo on a vehicle. I use a 2nd cloth (another color to
differentiate between the two), with Race Glaze® Gloss Highlighter – on
my paint, chrome, wheels, and my windows. Try this combination – I think
you’ll find it works very well. Check
our specials for this month – we’re offering a couple of packages
with "microfiber cloths"
