Polishing Metal - All Metals
There are a lot of metal polishes on the market - some are pretty good at what they are intended to be used for - 1 or perhaps 2 different types of metals. Others say they produce great results on "all metals", but in fact work so so at best. Still others are weak on all metals. Another trait most metal polishes have in common, is that they have various hazards associated with their use - toxic, flammable, abrasive, and contain acid(s). The metal polish we have chosen to distribute, and very proud to be associated with, Flitz® Metal Polish, Paint & Fiberglass Restorer, is unique in several ways:
- Excellent results on ALL metals
- Non-toxic
- Non- abrasive
- Non-flammable
- No acid
Now for some tips on polishing various types of metals, with Flitz®:
Rust - Use Flitz® with #0000 (Super Fine) steel wool, or a Flitz® Scrubbie Pad.
Diamond Plate/Aluminum Running Boards - Use Flitz® with a carpet swatch/scrap. It gets into all the little crevices & grooves, without breaking up like a rag or towel. Buff with a 2nd carpet swatch.
Gun Cleaning - Put Flitz® into barrel onto a clean gun patch or felt pellet. Lightly work Remove dirty patch, buff with clean patch. Use Flitz® polishing brass liquid (FZ® Polish) for gun shells in tumblers.
Gemstones - Flitz® will not harm diamonds, or any other gemstones. Never use a toothbrush to clean a ring. The bristles in toothbrushes are designed to NOT come loose - this means you could loosen a stone from its setting. Use a soft bristle brush, like those that come in the liquid jewelry cleaners.
Stains on countertops - Flitz® will remove many stains that other cleaners won't, including permanent magic marker on hard surfaces such as Plexiglas, Formica, and fiberglass.
