Microfiber Detailing Cloths

Three years ago we took on a new product, called a "microfiber detailing cloth" – this unique cloth has many uses, both for your vehicle, and around the house. I have personally found them to be exceptional for use with Race GlazeŽ Gloss Highlighter. The nature of the cloth’s thread structure, permits it to absorb and retain moisture, at more than six (6) times its weight. I find that I can treat my van or any of our cars with Gloss Highlighter, more easily with one microfiber cloth, than I could previously, when using two terry cloth towels. I have never seen any cloth or paper product clean windows and mirrors as well as our microfiber cloth does. We took these on just before the new "Syracuse Nationals 2000" car show, which was held the last weekend in July, at the State Fairgrounds (Syracuse, NY). We did demo’s on our van’s tinted windows all weekend, to show people how well the cloths worked with Gloss Highlighter.

We’ve gotten very positive feedback from just about everyone who has purchased one of our cloths, and many people have re-ordered additional cloths. If you check out our "Monthly Specials", you’ll find that we’ve put together several packages that contain these cloths, along with a bottle of Race GlazeŽ Gloss Highlighter. These cloths may be washed in hot water, up to 500 times – do not use  fabric softener - it fills the pores, and makes the cloth behave like it is dirty.

Here’s some more info:

Microfiber detailing cloths penetrate crevices of the work surface and remove minute dirt particles that are missed by conventional cloths. Split microfiber strands pick up dirt like a magnet, attracting more than twice as many dirt particles as cotton or disposable towels, and without producing any lint.

These premium microfiber cloths are highly absorbent, retaining moisture at more than six times their weight. This enables them to be used for both cleaning and polishing applications. Use a dampened cloth for cleaning (such as applying Race GlazeŽ Polish & Sealant), and a dry cloth for polishing/buffing, and fingerprint removal. Haze and oily residue left from waxes, polishes, glazes and cleaners are quickly and completely removed. Unlike conventional cloths, these cloths clean glass and mirrors streak-free, even at the corners. They are also recommended for cleaning chrome, plastic, vinyl and leather.

Multi-dimensional construction for high durability

Produced from a blend of polyester and polyamide, the fibers are subjected to a special heat treating process that uniformly splits each fiber into 16 separate "microfiber" strands. Each split fiber is 20 times smaller than a strand of silk, and over 20 million strands are used to manufacture just one cloth.

A specially wrapped over-lock hem around the edge of the cloth prevents it from shredding or stretching out of shape. The knitted fabric will not unravel or easily wear out because the split microfiber strands are multi-dimensionally knit. Because of the cloth’s superior dirt lifting and trapping properties, frequent hot water machine washing is recommended. Each cloth may be laundered up to 500 times at temperatures up to 140°, using a standard detergent. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Microfiber cloths dry fast and retain their original shape.

Lets Compare

Not all microfiber cloths are the same. Our microfiber detailing cloths feature wedge shaped split microfiber strands (a blow up of the end of one our cloths, looks like a piece of pie, sliced into 16 pieces). This design provides superior trapping and removal of all dirt particles, while protecting the work surface from scratching. Many other microfiber cloths are simply not made to pick up as many particles, because their strands are of a single rounded strand composition. Our cloths larger 16" x 16" size get the job done faster, easier, better, and more economically.

Note: The combination of Race GlazeŽ Gloss Highlighter, used with one of our microfiber detailing cloths, produces superior results, in a shorter time than the typical method (using one towel to spread out the Gloss Highlighter, and the 2nd towel to buff it). The cloth does both jobs in less time, without having to turn to a dry section to buff.
